Parasite Morphology and Vector Map

Protozoa, helminths, vectors, and eggs

  1. Parasite clue family

    Sort first by protozoan versus helminth, then use vector, cyst, egg, and tissue-stage vocabulary.

    1. Protozoa

      Giardia, Entamoeba, Cryptosporidium, Plasmodium, Toxoplasma, Trypanosoma, and Leishmania are common morphology/lifecycle anchors.

    2. Helminths

      Ascaris, Taenia, and Schistosoma separate by nematode, cestode, and trematode vocabulary.

    3. Vector or host term

      Use mosquito, sandfly, triatomine, snail, cat, and reservoir-host terms as lifecycle vocabulary.
